How we know what we know.

Updated 22 October 2026

Why this page exists

You’re trusting Mori with questions about your pet and decisions about where to take them. This page explains how we gather, check and present information, and what we do when we get it wrong.

The local guide

We build listings from each provider’s own public pages, government pages and published guides. We read the source directly where we can, and record the sources and the date we checked on every place.

Nothing is shown as Verified until the business itself confirms its details to us. Until then, listings are marked Unverified, and places taken from a provider’s or government’s own page are marked as an official source.

We leave a field empty rather than guess. If a source doesn’t give opening hours, we don’t publish hours.

There is no paid placement in how places are ranked. Places are ordered by your area and emirate, whether they serve your kind of pet, whether they are open 24 hours, and how confident we are in the information. If we ever add sponsored placements, they will be labelled clearly.

Confidence levels

Official source: taken from the business’s own website or a government page.

Unverified: taken from an insurer’s list, a news article, a guide or a directory. We say which in the listing’s notes.

Maggy

Maggy gives general guidance. It never diagnoses, prescribes or suggests doses, and it stays on the topic of pets. If a message mentions signs of an emergency, Mori skips the chat and shows 24-hour vets with phone numbers.

When the answer service isn’t available, Mori can answer a small set of questions from notes we’ve checked, and says that’s what it’s doing, with the sources.

Guides and journal

Journal articles list their sources and the date the facts were checked. Where sources disagree, we say so instead of picking one. We are not lawyers or vets, and our articles are not legal or veterinary advice.

Corrections

If you spot a mistake, tell us. We aim to check and fix errors promptly, update the checked date, and note significant corrections on the page.

Independence

Our editorial choices are made independently of providers and partners. Partnerships never change a listing’s sources or its Unverified label.
